The Case Bearing Clothes Moth, scientifically known as Tinea pellionella, is a common pest in the United Kingdom and well known to the areas of Liverpool, Cheshire, Warrington and Manchester. The silken case created and carried by this species larva is what gives them its common name. It is also the making of the case making clothes that is the central problem that makes this a pest. As the larvae feed on fabric, the case takes on the coloration of the fabric they are feeding on. When disturbed, it withdraws into the case or tube.
